Con Aldo Sessa il Rotary Club Costa Gaia vanta un lungo sodalizio che nel tempo si è concretizzato in pregevoli iniziative pittoriche nelle quali il Maestro Aldo Sessa, dando prova della sua sensibilità, ha interpretato i valori fondamentali del Rotary con l’esaltazione dei princìpi di solidarietà e del perseguimento della pace, di cui il monumento del centenario esposto nel nostro aeroporto costituisce mirabile testimonianza.
Nella mostra “La Sicilia Dei Castelli – Miti e Leggende “ egli affronta una sfida ancora più ardua, accettando di raffigurare, attraverso di essa, i sentimenti e le tradizioni di un popolo che, in queste Opere ed in questi Luoghi, ritrova la Sua anima più profonda ed i tratti della sua Storia, traendone nuove motivazioni per rivendicare con orgoglio, in un mondo distratto, il Suo ruolo comprimario. I valori che Essa sottende – l’amore per la libertà innanzitutto – sono quelli stessi cui il Rotary International si ispira, nel convincimento che occorra difenderli perché non si disperda la memoria dei Padri ed indicarli alle nuove generazioni perché in essi ritrovino le ragioni primigenie di costituirsi e dell’essere Comunità.

With Aldo Sessa, the Rotary Club Costa Gaia is proud to appreciate a long term fellowship, carrying out valuable painted enterprises, in which the artist, giving proof of his profound sensibility, has succeeded in interpreting the founding values of the Rotary Club, emphasizing and the Achievement of worldwide Peace – the monument celebrating the centennial of the Rotary foundation, is situated in our airport, representing excellent evidence.
In the Exhibition “Sicily and its Castles- the Myths and the Legends” Master Sessa faces a challenge even more difficult by accepting to represent the feelings and the traditions of the people that, in these works and in these places, traces back its deepest soul and the traits of its history, getting in turn new motivations to be proud, in a distract world, of its major role.
The values underlying it – the love of freedom first of all – are the same inspiring the Rotary International, convinced as they are, that we need to defend them, in order not to lose the memory of our Fathers – and to indicate them to the new generation – so that in them, they can find again the main reasons to be proud of gathering and of being a “ Community”.
